Remote wiring a 400w metal halide ballast

Could anyone give me advice on remote wiring a 400w metal halide fixture?

Yes,I would like to be able to rewire the ballast away from the socket.
I'm trying to do this so that i can be able to mount it over a large aquarium.The fixture is a highbay type that i'm using in a 120v outlet.

My Sylvania Lamp & Ballast Product Catalog (2002) lists seven different 400w metal halide lamps and refers to a number of different ballasts for these lamps. I suggest that you contact the lamp and/or the ballast manufacturer for technical information about ballast to lamp socket distance and the lead wire type and gauge. Understand that the manufacturers may inform you that the UL listing will be voided by any non-complying changes.
