New brand???

I work for a landscape lighting co. out here in Phoenix, Beam Lighting + Construction, and we just started using fixtures from a company called Atom Lighting. I must say, I love these. They are easier to install than any other fixture, more durable, and I can usually get them for a better price than anything else. The only gripe I had was that, so far, they are only availible at Ewing. I happened to find out they were a local company and called them to ask if they were available anywhere else, they said no, however, they were in the midst of updating their web site and begining to sell them online. My hope is that they will be even less than Ewing, thus saving me even more per fixture!!!

I have also used the Atom Lighting, but I am a little concerned with selling them over the internet. I don't agree with manufacturers placing a dollar figure to the general public. That changes the rules of business from design and creation into price very fast. Last I heard landscape lighting has very little to do with price and a lot to do with quality. Most of our customers could not care if they paid $20.00 or $220.00 per light they have no general concept of value when it comes to landscape lighting, therefore it becomes our responsibility to initiate the value through quality installations, good designs and quality lighting products, couple that with a yearly service and price is not the issue. But if a manufacturer is going to bring pricing into the factor, they wont get support from the real players in this industry. Ever try to get a price on a BK path Star as a home owner, it's like pulling teeth. Do you think a contractor would have to neglect his margins there. I am sure Atom will do what is best for the contractors, I know they have looked after us very well on this issue and will continue to do so as they grow. Ewing is also very reputable supplier and If they are carring the Atom others will follow, I'm sure of it.
