We (my wife and I) began a major renovation of our home a year ago. Living quarters are almost completed. Home automation system is saving $$ every day, and the other "jetson" enhancements are coming along nicely.
We anticipate being able to seriously work on the landscaping (lighting) beginning next spring.
So, I have roughly a ½ year to study, observe, dream, plan, design, and finally install.
My background is somewhat technical. I spent nearly 30 years in the broadcast / recording field as a technical specialist. I now manage the tech team for a computer network of nearly 2000 users at over 50 sites running on various server platforms.
My wife and I do all our landscape/gardening.
This last part of the project is kind of "dessert" because it really does save the best for last.
My hopes are to learn from others and share my experience with this list.
Key interests are having an end result I can love! (enhancing an already cool home), integration with my home automation system, installation I can do, and all those other things I wish I already knew but anticipate learning in the coming year.
