We recently purchased a used mobile home which has cast alum. Malibu lights. The lights and transformer all work fine, the one problem is the plastic globes. Some are totally gone and rest are very weak. I email Intermatic parent company of the Malibu brand and they indicated all parts go directly to manufacturing. Does anyone know of a place to get replacement globes for our lights. the globes are 3 1/4"x 4".

Imagine if you will a manufacturer putting a product on the market that will live outdoors all its life that does not address the issue of UV degradation of its only lamp protecting part. This is nothing new; many of the plastic parts for their other lines, most particularly the lenses, grow cloudy after a year or two of exposure to sunlight. Caveat Emptor.

Thanks for the comment. You expressed similar comments to me in an email prior to my posting on your web forum. The lights we have are very well made and will provide good service for many years to come. The problem I have is with Intermatics attitude, They only make parts for assembly of their new units. This is BS. I believe there is a law that a manufacturer must supply parts for any product they have made for a period of ten years. Here is a situation where they are still making the product and I can't get parts. I am sending letters to Intermatic Corp. office and looking for the statute requiring parts be made available for a reasonable period of time, until then we have found a spray bottle that when we cut the top and bottom off of work fine for a lenses for our Malibu lights. Thanks Again
