View Full Version : Tree Lighting Rule of thumb

I'm working on a landscape lighting project. The back yard is very wooded and rustic. Cleat of small brush but has quite a few very tall white oaks with long trunks leading up to the full foliage. I have 2 questions:
1) Is there a logical height cutoff upon which to mount downlights
given the maintenance factor of bulb changes etc.? The foliage is 25 or more feet from the ground in most cases
2) Is uplighting or down lighting the better approach when dealing with this type of landscape.

Thanks for any help!
