Since the "Cable, wiring & connections" forum is the target of hackers, why not change the name to "Cable (wiring & connections)" or similar, to throw off automated entries. Just to test the hypothesis. Or, rename it accordingly: "Cable, Porn, and Prescription Drugs."

Currently lowvolt.org is running vBulletin's 3.6.4 iteration; the plan is to upgrade to the most recent format with the expectation that 3.7.7 will have a more secure barrier. See "bogus posts" in this forum and the post of the same name in the "Lamps..." forum for more information.

It takes someone with much more experience in PHP and HTML to make any modifications to the existing forum features. If there is a member with this type of knowledge please contact me.

At this moment I am trying to comply with vBulletin's protocols regarding ownership of the license. Complications within the process require that the previous administrator, who is very difficult to contact, take action to transfer the license to me. Until that transfer is confirmed I or an agent hired by me cannot effect any changes beyond routine maintenance.

I was always the "owner" of the vBulletin license in that I paid all of the charges, fees and technical administrative costs. However the owner of record remains the prior administrator. He has tried on two recent occasions to make the transfer but vBulletin has a few more hoops to jump through.

Unfortunately until that formal transfer occurs my ability to manage the site is curtailed by vBulletin's policies. I appreciate the patience shown by members as this problem approaches resolution.
