manufacturers

I am just wondering if anyone has a listing of some of the best manufacturers of outdoor low voltage lighting in Canada and the U.S.. I would really appreciate this information if at all possible. Thanks.

I don't know of a complete list but some of the online distributors carry many brands: <www.callite.com>
There is a Canadian Company "SNOC" (or something like that) but I couldn't find their web site.

lighting equipment sources

Two additional manufacturer web sites:
FXL.com and Escortlighting.com
The FXL site has the best design/build data including many pages of information about planning a system and technical tips.
Escortlighting.com has numerous well-designed, all copper fixtures available on-line

Re: manufacturers

This feature is no longer available on this site.

Note that a growing list of manufacturers of low voltage equipment is now a feature of lowvolt.org. The "manufacturers" nav bar will take you to the links for company web sites.

Members can submit URLs of manufacturer's web sites for for inclusion by posting them under this heading.

Re: lighting equipment sources

I've been very happy with Atom Lighting. They are new to the public since about a year ago but I've been told they have been manufacturing privetly for some landscape company for about 4 years. They will have a web site up soon and they told me you will be able to buy directly from them! For now I get them at Ewing Irrigation. These are probably the best quality light i've run across thats made in N america.

Hope this helps.

Re: lighting equipment sources

Without a sample of Atom's best fixture to test to destruction there is no way to quantify those aspects of the fixture that make it superior to another maker's. Contact Atom and see if they will provide a sample for testing and evaluation.

The product review forum has ample information to allow one to identify the plus or minus attributes of a low voltage outdoor lighting fixture.

If you do not have the time or inclination to write a detailed product review ask Atom or their distributor to send me their best item for review. I would do this myself but do not have a contact. Atom, on request, could be listed on the site's manufacturers page if they wish.

The conditions are; no charge for fixture or freight and the item will not be returned. A review is always subject to correction if there is an error. Look at the product review posts for methodology and procedural standards. My shipping address is listed on my commercial web site. Since I do not have enough storage space, I routinely trash tested fixtures.

Dear Admin,

I would like to submit some new Volt Corp samples for testing/your product review. Could you email me your mailing address and contact info?

Also I did not see the Manufacturers Nav Bar Heading to add manufacturers? Could you describe where this section is?

Thanks,

Alan Brynjolfsson

link/reviews

You can add a link within a post by keying in the complete address; for example:

http://www.sitelights.com

The 2004 reference to a manufacturer's page is out-of-date. The page was lost in a hard drive crash in April 2005, as I recall, and never recreated. You will find references to the "crash" if you use the site search engine.

In my 12.20.08 10:06 PM EST email response to your report that you could not post I notified you that the site would accept your posts and responses. The delay was a function of internal security measures including verification of your email address.

The same email explained my reluctance to review additional new products and evaluate them. However any member interested in writing reviews of any kind has the ability to do this if they have the time and the interest.
